Recently, the retail chain specializing in the design, manufacture and sale of bedrooms and kitchens Wren Kitchens announced the closure of its stores in the United States after filing for bankruptcy.

The British company that had established commercial alliances with the American retailer Residence Depot filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, in addition to currently facing legal problems.

Through a statement on its website, Wren Kitchen stressed that it regrets informing its customers that its showrooms and studios will be closed. While its ally Residence Depot noted: “Wren Kitchens has notified us that it has ceased operations in the United States, including the closure of its showrooms in our stores,” said.

Residence Depot also clarified in a letter that it had no prior knowledge of Wren’s intentions to close its stores. “We are actively evaluating how this has affected Wren customers to help those who may have questions or issues,” he added. Wren Kitchens had at least 15 stores on the East Coast, as well as locations within Residence Depot locations.

However, the company already had legal problems after a class action lawsuit against its subsidiary in the United States; The document states that Wren Kitchens violated the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act, which requires employers to present planned layoffs 60 days in advance, since their employees were notified a few days before the immediate closure of their stores.
