The director of the FBI, Kash Patel assured this Monday that the security protocol will be “completely different” if the frustrated White House correspondents’ dinner from which President Donald Trump had to be evacuated on Saturday is rescheduled, and assured that they will be “ready” for the event.
“I think we’re going to do it in a completely different way. On Saturday night you heard the president say we’re going to do it again shortly, maybe in about 30 days, and we will be ready for it“Patel said in an interview with the Fox Records network in which he praised the official investigation to clarify the facts.
According to the head of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, agents “They haven’t slept all weekend.” to try to clarify the chain of events and the motives that led the suspect, identified in the media as Cole Allen, to attack Administration officials.
Allen, a 31-year-old California teacher, will appear in federal court in Washington this Monday. where he is expected to be charged with charges of use of a firearm and assault on a federal agent, among others, after attempting to enter the annual dinner of the White House Correspondents Association (WHCA) armed.

In the appointment, to which Trump attended for the first time as a sitting president, the first lady, Melania Trump, and senior Republican Cabinet officials were also present.among them the vice president, JD Vance, and the secretaries of State, Marco Rubio; War, Pete Hegseth; Treasure, Scott Bessent; and Health, Robert Kennedy Jr.
“We have compiled so far, including emails, social media posts, interviews with witnesses and conversations with people around him, family, friends and neighbors, in order to offer a complete picture of the mentality and intentions of this individual at the time of filing charges in court,” Patel told Fox Records.
According to the FBI director, they have offered “an extremely rapid operational response, perhaps even the fastest recorded to date, for an event of this magnitude.”
The security breach at the high-level event has put the focus on security protocols for this type of meetingespecially after the two assassination attempts against the US president and the attacks on political figures, including the murder of a Democratic congresswoman and her husband in Minnesota in 2025.
According to The Washington Submit newspaper, the Trump Administration offered a lower level of security for the White House correspondents’ dinner than for other meetings of senior officials, despite the presence of the president and much of his Cabinet.
In a statement, the WHCA expressed its “deep gratitude” to the Secret Service and law enforcement for ensuring the safety of the thousands of attendees and wished a speedy recovery to the Secret Service agent who was injured when he was shot, which hit his bulletproof vest.
The association announced that it would meet to determine the possible rescheduling of the event. EFE
