The president of the United States, Donald Trump, This Sunday he demanded the immediate end of the controversial dance hall which he ordered built in the White House, after having been evacuated from the Correspondents’ Association dinner on Saturday night due to the invasion of an armed man.
In a message published on his social network, Fact Social, the president insisted that the incident, in which a Secret Service agent was injured, justifies the need to have a high security space within the perimeter of the presidential residence.
“What happened last night is exactly why our great military, Secret Service and law enforcement have been demanding that a large, secure ballroom be built on the grounds of the White House,” Trump said.
The president attacked the ongoing battle that is keeping work on the $400 million project suspended, which involved the demolition of the historic East Wing in October 2025.
“The ridiculous lawsuit against the dance hall, filed by a woman who was walking her dog and which has no standing, must be dismissed immediately“Trump declared, referring to the judicial process that last March led federal judge Richard Leon to order the suspension of the works due to lack of approval from Congress.

District Judge Richard Leon in Washington granted a conservation group’s request for a preliminary injunction, which temporarily halts Trump’s White House project.
According to the president, the new room, of about 8,000 square meters, is a “top military secret” structure that has the highest levels of security and lacks upper rooms through which “unauthorized people can leak.”
He thus made reference to the fact that the suspect in the recent incident, identified as Cole Tomas Allen, 31 years oldwho tried to enter the gala event armed, was a guest of the Washington Hilton Resort, where the correspondents’ dinner chaired by Trump was held.
The suspect, who was neutralized after shooting at an agent’s bulletproof vest, caused the president to be abruptly evacuated; the first lady, Melania Trump, and the vice president, JD Vance.
“This event would never have happened with the top-secret ballroom currently being built in the White House. It cannot be built fast enough!” added the president, who assured that the work, despite the judicial brakes, is “under budget and substantially ahead of schedule.” EFE
