Michael B. Jordan and Austin Butler have secured a new project that will see them bring the iconic duo from the eighties series, “Miami Vice,” to the big screen. According to The Hollywood Reporter, The two actors have been confirmed to play detectives “Rico” Tubs and James “Sonny” Crocket in the film titled “Miami Vice ’85.”

Although specific plot details remain unknown, Universal Photos revealed that the film will be directed by Joseph Kosinski (“F1, “High Gun: Maverick”). With the script by Dan Gilroy, The story will take inspiration from the pilot episode and the first season of the usual 1980 series..

In this new version of “Miami Vice,” Michael B. Jordan will take on the role of Ricardo “Rico” Tubs and Austin Butler will play his colleague James “Sonny” Crocket.
