Ron DeSantis, governor of Florida, challenged Democrat Hakeem Jeffries, minority leader of the House of Representatives, to travel to Florida to promote Democratic candidates and even offered to cover his travel and stay expenses.

The position taken by the Republican whose term at the head of the “Sunshine State” is in the final stretch arose in response to a statement from Jeffries where he claimed that, by promoting redistricting, DeSantis was practically putting the noose around his neck, since he was setting up the Republicans to suffer several defeats.

“Our message to Florida Republicans is: ‘If you mess with us, you’ll see,’” the Democrat recently said. before several journalists gathered at the Capitol.

And to further provoke the Republicans, through a statement released by Punchbowl Newsthe 55-year-old New Yorker mentioned that the seats of eight Republican congressmen from Florida would be the target of Democrats in the midterm elections.

“We are prepared to take on everyone, and we are prepared to win. War at full speed, everywhere, all the time,” he wrote.

However, Ron DeSantis believes the opposite and therefore called an extraordinary session in the Florida Legislature for next week.

Its objective is to propose new electoral district maps presumably favorable to the Republican Party for the midterm elections.

The confidence projected in the conservative politician is such that he not only offers to cover the expenses of Jeffries’ stay in Florida, but also to provide him with first-class treatment in order to show him that the public supports the Republicans. and not to his political adversaries.

“I’ll pay for your trip to Florida to campaign. I’ll put you up at the Florida governor’s mansion. We’ll take you fishing. We’ll do all that.

There’s nothing better for Florida Republicans than seeing Jeffries everywhere in this state. “Voters will not like what they see, they will not want that type of ideology, so the door is open, the invitation is there,” DeSantis said during a press conference.
