Ohio gubernatorial hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy He injected $25 million of his non-public fortune into the campaign that would allow him to become state president.
In a fundraising report released by the television network Fox Newsit is indicated that, with the aim of strengthening his campaign, the 40-year-old billionaire opened his checkbook and in one fell swoop exceeded the amount of money he raised last year through contributions from his supporters.
In this way, to the $20 million dollars with which Ramaswamy closed in December, five more were added in the almost four months it has been running this year.
However, after the donation from the conservative with Hindu roots, the figure doubled, setting a record for money allocated to a campaign for governor of Ohio, this according to a statement issued by Jonathan Ewing, campaign manager.
“No gubernatorial campaign in Ohio history has achieved numbers like theseand this sends a clear message: Ohioans are excited about Vivek, our campaign is growing, and we will win by a large margin in November,” he wrote.
To that amount of money must still be added that A huge PAC linked to Ramaswamy announced it had raised $29.5 million since the start of the campaign.
In sum, The numbers point to close to $80 million dollars with the enormous possibility that support will still grow towards the man who in 2024 had set the goal of defeating Donald Trump, who ultimately has been his great mentor in American politics, first making him work alongside Elon Musk as co-heads of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
After this work experience, the visionary businessman decided to run for governor and now opinion polls show him as the great favorite to triumph when the time comes to go to the polls.
