donald trump He read a biblical passage in a pre-recorded video that was broadcast at a religious event, in the midst of the war with Iran and its attacks against Pope Leo XIV.
In the video, where Trump appears sitting in the Oval Office, the president read the Bible passages from 2 Chronicles 7:11-22 using the Reina Valera version.
Trump’s intervention was part of the forum “America Reads the Bible” convened by dozens of speakers and religious faithful, including some members of the Republican cabinet, who seek to promote the reading of the book of Christianity.
The text read by Trump recounts the moment when God responds to King Solomon after the construction of the temple, ensuring that he has heard their prayers, but warning that the prosperity of the people will depend on their faithfulness.
The Republican’s Bible reading comes a week after generating controversy for his attacks on Pope Leo XIVwhom he accused of being “weak” towards Iran, because it questioned the actions of his Administration in the current war in the Middle East.
Trump has received criticism, even from people close to his party, for his confrontation with the Pope and also because he published a AI generated image where it appears as if it were Jesus healing a wounded man.
