Cecilia Patricia Floresleader of the Madres Buscadoras de Sonora collective, sent a letter to Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán in which he requests information to locate his son Alejandro Guadalupemissing since 2015 in Sinaloa.
According to reports from media such as La Silla Rota, the activist made this decision after the recent letter that the former leader of the Sinaloa Cartel sent from prison in the United States, where he asked for better prison conditions.
From this, Flores appealed to his “humanity” to obtain data on missing people.
In her message, the searching mother assured that the capo could have relevant information, since her son would have been deprived of his freedom by people linked to that prison organization. “We know you have information… I beg you to tell us where they are.”he expressed.

Flores explained that Alejandro was disappeared on October 30, 2015 in the Los Mochis area, when he was on his way to work. Since then, he has maintained a constant search, even with his own means.
Furthermore, in a message broadcast publicly, he asked for empathy not only for his case, but for that of thousands of families searching for their missing loved ones in the country. “It is the plea of a mother who has been fighting for her son for years.”he pointed out.
The founder of the group also indicated that, driven by love for her son, she even decided to share her address in the letter in the hope of receiving a response.
Ceci Flores’ call comes in a context of the disappearance crisis in Mexico, where groups of relatives have taken on search tasks in the absence of official results.
The activist has become one of the most visible voices in this fight, after years of tracking down clandestine graves and demanding justice for the victims.
