The 2026 World Cup will be the first tournament with forty-eight participating teams. Mexico will be one of the host countries along with the United States and Canada. Marcos LlorenteWorld Champion with Spain in 2010, considers that El Tri will have a difficult task in the tournament. The level in custom has increased.
The Mexican team will be in Group A of the 2026 World Cup. The Aztec team was paired with the teams of South Africa, South Korea and the Czech Republic. Fernando Llorente hopes that Mexico can transcend in the World Cup, but recognizes that It will not be easy due to the level of the teams that will participate in it.

Since the 1994 World Cup, Mexico has not been able to overcome the barrier of the round of 16. In fact, in the 2022 Qatar World Cup they did not manage to get beyond the group stage. This is the context of El Tri, after 9 World Cups without meeting previous expectations.

Javier Aguirre is the Mexico coach. “Vasco” is the right strategist for Mexico to overcome the barrier of the round of 16 in the World Cup. Mexico’s first phase in the World Cup
The Mexican team will debut in the World Cup on June 11 at the legendary Azteca Stadium. El Tri’s first rival will be South Africa. Seven days later it will be measured at South Korea at the Guadalajara Stadium. Mexico will close its participation in the group stage on June 24 against the Czech Republic at the Banorte Stadium.
