Hispanic prison officer faces charges for drug trafficking in Los Angeles

A Hispanic California Corrections Officer and Alleged Drug Trafficker They were accused of participating in a drug smuggling operation in Los Angeles County.

Jesús Reyes, agent of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR)and José Luis Aldahir Rocha Luque face charges of three felonies: conspiracy to sell a controlled substance, possession for the purpose of sale and transportation from one county to another.

According to prosecutors, in June 2023, Luque rented a property in the Rowland Heights area with the purpose of using it to store cocaine.

Reports say that on August 1, 2023, Reyes transported the drugs from Mexico to the residence in Rowland Heights, where authorities They found 44 pounds (20 kilograms) of cocaine and nearly $200,000 in cash.
