A Hispanic man was arrested on charges of attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a police officer several times this Friday afternoon in Prolonged Seaside.

Arturo Fernández, 44, resident of Torrancewas taken into custody at the Prolonged Seaside City Jail on suspicion of attempted murder, with bail set at $1 million.

He Long Seaside Police Department (LBPD) said that at approximately 2:42 p.m. on April 17, officers responded to a disturbance call involving a possibly armed person in the 200 block of West Broadway.
