The world of fashion and cinema converge once again in an unprecedented event. Disney+ confirmed that it will broadcast the global premiere of “The Satan Wears Prada 2”the long-awaited sequel from 20th Century Studios that marks the return of the iconic Miranda Priestly to the big screen.
The gala event will take place this Monday April 20 at the iconic Lincoln Heart in New York. The special broadcast will begin at 6:30 pm (local time)allowing the platform’s subscribers to enjoy in real time the arrival of celebrities, exclusive interviews with the cast and a privileged look at the haute couture trends that will parade on the red carpet.
The expectation is maximum, since the attendance of the normal leading trio has been confirmed: Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt. They will be joined by figures such as Stanley Tucci, Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley and Helen J. Shen.
The presence of director David Frankel and screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna is also assured, consolidating this gala as one of the most important film events of the year.
For those who cannot tune in to the live signal, Disney+ will keep the event available in its catalog to be viewed on demand.
This special coverage serves as a prelude to the film’s commercial premiere, scheduled for next April 30 in movie theaters.
With this initiative, Disney seeks to bring the “red carpet” experience to a global audience that has waited almost two decades to see the continuation of the editorial war between Runway magazine and its complex protagonists.
