The president’s immigration policy donald trump faces a growing burnout among voters in the United States, particularly among the Latino community. This is revealed by a survey carried out by Third Intention and UnidosUSwith the support of firms such as Impact Be taught and BSP Be taught.

The study, released through thirdway.org, is based on interviews with a thousand potential voters and an additional sample of 850 Hispanic voters. Their results point to a significant change in public perception about the immigration strategy of the current administration.

One of the most relevant findings is the drop in approval levels. At the moment, Trump registers 44% fashioned support compared to 55% disapproval. However, among Latino voters the gap is much wider: only 34% approve of his management, while 66% reject it.

The negative evaluation also reaches key institutions such as the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)which maintains similar disapproval numbers. Although Customs and Border Protection presents a slightly more favorable image, it does not escape the downward trend among Hispanics.

The report indicates that the tightening of immigration policies, including operations in cities like Minneapolis, has had a strong media impact. In fact, 97% of those surveyed claim to have heard about these events. When evaluating responsibilities, 51% of voters blame the Trump administration for the riotswhile 54% point directly to ICE and Border Patrol agents. Among Latinos, these figures increase to 60% and 66%, respectively.

“President Trump and the Republicans have gone too far”55% of the fashionable electorate and 70% of Latino voters agree, according to the survey. This perception contrasts with the 43% who consider that the current strategy “is on the right track.”

Despite the drop in popularity on immigration issues, Border security remains Trump’s strongest pointwith 56% approval. However, the study highlights that this support does not automatically translate into support for mass deportation policies or the actions of ICE in US territory.

Another key aspect is that immigration does not appear as the main concern of voters. Issues such as inflation, the cost of living and political corruption dominate the agenda. Among Latino voters, 29% point to the economy as a priority, while immigration remains in the background, although with greater relative weight.

In the political field, these changes are reflected in voting intention. While Democrats and Republicans are practically tied at the fashioned level, Among Latino voters, Democrats maintain a clear advantage: 61% to 31%.

The study also reveals a broad consensus in favor of reform the immigration system. More than 70% of those surveyed support measures such as the mandatory use of body cameras by immigration agents, the requirement of court orders and the prohibition of detentions in sensitive places such as schools or hospitals.

In particular, 59% of voters believe that significant changes should be implemented in ICE before approving more funding. Among Latinos, this figure reaches a resounding 81%.

Far from supporting extreme positions, the majority of respondents favor a balanced approach. 77% support the selective deportation of immigrants with a recent criminal record or no noxious smartly suited, while 54% reject indiscriminate mass expulsions.

Taken together, the results show an electorate that not only questions the current strategy, but also requires more moderate solutionstransparent and aligned with democratic values.
