Recent surveys among Latino voters reveal that they blame President Donald Trump and his war against Iran as one of the factors for high gasoline prices and other products.
“Republican economic policies are mainly responsible, since Tariffs and new conflicts abroad are raising the cost of consumer goodsand they are cutting health and food programs to grant tax breaks to billionaires,” says a report by Somos Votantes and GSG Political.
He warns that 64% of voters in key states for elections in 2026, such as Texas and Florida. The report details that in the districts of such entities, 63% of voters in districts think the same.
In such a scenario, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) launches gas price ads in Spanish and English targeting voters in “red to blue” districts, including TX-15, FL-07, FL-15, FL-27, FL-28.
“Republicans have turned their backs on Latino families and they have systematically ignored their demands to stop rising costs,” said José Monsivais, director of Latino engagement for the DCCC. “Latino voters know Republicans are to blame and will oust them in November.”
The strategy is disseminated on Facebook and Instagram and is part of the “Our Power, Our Country” program, focused on informing and mobilizing Latino voters in key districts across the country.
Among the images that are disseminated are messages against Republicans Mónica de la Cruz (TX-15), Cory Millis (FL-07) and María Elvira Salazar (FL-27).
“It’s my fault,” says one of the messages in Spanish, referring to the increase in gasoline prices, which exceeded $4 per gallon nationwide, due to the war with Iran.
The DCCC states that polls show that Republicans face problems with support among Latinos, with -23%, with rising prices being the predominant problem.
This newspaper has published its own surveys that reveal concern among Latino voters about the cost of living, the employment situation and, in general, the economic situation in the United States, contrary to President Donald Trump’s central promise to improve the country’s economy.
