A nurse was shot to death inside a rehab center in New Jersey by her estranged husband. The attacker took his own life after the attack, in a case that authorities are investigating as a murder-suicide.
The incident occurred in Egg Harbor Township, where the victim, Victoria Alexander, 38, worked at the Excelcare rehabilitation center, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office in a press release reviewed by Fox News.
According to authorities, her estranged husband, Brandon Alexander, 35, ambushed her as she arrived for her shift around 6:00 a.m.
The attacker blocked the victim’s vehicle in the parking lot and entered the car, where he left two suicide notes on the dashboard.
Attempt to atomize out and fatal attack
According to the research, A food delivery driver asked the attacker to move his vehiclea moment that Victoria took advantage of to flee towards the inside of the building.
However, the man chased her inside the facility and shot her multiple times.
The woman died at the scene.
After the attack, the attacker shot himself with the same weapon. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Authorities indicated that no other people were injured during the incident.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office called the case an isolated incident and continues to investigate the events.
Until now, The content of the suicide notes found in the vehicle has not been revealed.
