Santos FC does not get out of its bad streak. The Brazilian team could not win their first match due to the South American Cup. The Brazilian team tied 1-1 with Deportivo Recoleta at the Urbano Caldeira Stadium. The club’s fans reproached Neymar Jr. for his lack of dedication.
Everything seemed like it would be a night of reunion between the fans and the club. At minute 4 of the game, Neymar Jr. would score the first goal of the game and his first goal in the history of the Copa Sudamericana. But Santos gave a penalty that was taken advantage of by Richard Ortiz to score the tying goal.
Santos maintained 78% of ball possession and he scored up to 4 shots at the rival team’s goal. Deportivo Recoleta only had the penalty and nothing else during the entire match. This means that the Brazilian team cannot leave the bottom of the table. After two days, Santos FC accumulates a draw and a defeat.

I think we generated a lot and played well, we didn’t play badly (…) The fans get nervous and demand more from us, but the team is playing and creating opportunities. “I understand your frustration, but football is like that, sometimes the ball just doesn’t go in.”said Neymar Jr. after the game.
