During a conference at the National Palace, Harfuch explained that The discovery was the result of intelligence work and deployments on land and in the air that made it possible to locate possible transfer routes to the State of Mexico, where they were finally protected by security authorities.

According to reports from the La Silla Rota site, the case began on Saturday, when Juan Vega Arredondo, the mayor’s father, was last seen after being intercepted on the Taxco-Cuernavaca highway. His vehicle was found abandoned a day laterwhich triggered a first search operation.

Hours later, the mayor himself went out to look for his father; However, he was also reported missing, which intensified security actions in the region.
