German Berterame He was one of the significant casualties of Rayados de Monterrey for the Clausura 2026. The forward born in Argentina left tothe Inter Miami of Lionel Messi and company. However, in its first season, Berterame does not seem to adapt to the scheme that Javier Mascherano had.
The report was presented by Rafael Ramos for ESPN. The renowned journalist explained that the displeasure between the parties involved is not due to a performance issue. Berterame would not be comfortable with his role on the team.
“What about Berterame at Inter Miami, It is no longer just a football issue, it is no longer a question of scoring ability, there was some problem that took him away from that whole scenario.”, begins the report.
In the report, he delves into Berterame’s functions. The former Rayados de Monterrey player is used to a more elaborate game. Berterame is used to having good partnerships with the midfield. However, Javier Mascherano expected from him a player anchored in the rival area. A traditional battering ram.
“Berterame is a player who supports you a lot in construction and with more elaborate football. But they want him stuck in the area and Berterame does not feel comfortable… Obviously sometimes there is a kind of indiscipline,” the report adds.
Under these circumstances the analyst predicts a possible departure of Germán Berterame in the next markets. Germán Berterame is valued at just over $14 million dollars and has a current contract with “Las Garzas” until June 2029.
“He is no longer well-regarded, he is no longer well-liked within Inter Miami and, well, Maybe it won’t last long there. Maybe he returns to Liga MX or they end up selling to the other side”, he concluded.
In his first games with “Las Garzas”, Germán Berterame has only been able to contribute 1 goal and 1 assist (9 games played). The offensive burden has not fallen on the 27-year-old forward. Berterame has played just over 600 minutes on the field (the equivalent of 6 full games). These statistics include his 2 games in the Concacaf Champions League.
