The estimate of Chris Wright, Secretary of Energy, is that energy prices in the United States will continue to rise due to the consequences produced by the war against Iran.
Since February 28, when President Donald Trump ordered the bombing of the Islamic Republic, the transit of ships loaded with oil and goods destined for Europe was blocked in the Strait of Hormuz, which, in a matter of days, raised the price of crude oil worldwide, since nearly 20% of the world’s oil used to transit through there.
Given the impossibility of acquiring the raw materials to obtain gasoline and diesel, the transportation of goods and services rapidly increased, generating enough elements for various financial analysts to begin to speak of an unprecedented economic crisis, which will worsen as long as the trade plug located between the Gulf of Oman and the Persian Gulf is not released.
Although the United States is one of the main producers of crude oil and fuels worldwide, the effects of increased prices can also be observed in its domestic consumer market.

This Tuesday, the average price of gasoline in several states was around $4.12 per gallon, an increase of more than a dollar since the start of the war initially aimed at preventing Iran from continuing with its uranium enrichment program.
However, citizens must adapt to the rules that the world market sets, since According to Chris Wright’s perspective, more increases in fuel prices and therefore in the supply chain are coming.
“We are going to see high energy prices, and even continue to rise, until significant maritime traffic is reestablished through the Strait of Hormuz. Probably, at that time, the maximum price of oil will be reached. That will probably happen in the coming weeks. It depends on how the conflict develops, but it is a very reliable possibility,” said the Secretary of Energy during his participation in the Semafor World Financial system 2026 Congress held in Washington, DC
The point of controversy is that while Donald Trump claims to have won the war against the Islamic Republic, in Tehran they refuse to sign an agreement that ends said conflict.
