The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said this Tuesday that negotiations with Iran in Pakistan to end war could resume within the next two days.

In a telephone interview with a special representative of the Original York Put up newspaper in Islamabad, the Republican president recommended that the journalist remain in the Pakistani capital for the next few days.

The US president was referring to Pakistani all-rounder Asim Munir, with whom he forged a close relationship last year during the Pakistan-India conflict.

The American vice president, JD Vance led the first round of negotiations with Iran in Islamabad last Saturdayin what was the highest-level meeting between both countries since they broke relations due to the Islamic revolution of 1979.

After more than 20 hours of negotiations, both delegations left Pakistan without an agreement and Trump ordered the US Navy to block the Strait of Hormuz, as Tehran did after the start of the war on February 28. EFE
