Through his attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, The former dancer expressed his relief and support for Spears’ determination to prioritize her mental health and well-being after a series of incidents that set off alarms in their immediate environment.
The “Toxic” singer’s decision comes weeks after being arrested in Ventura, California, on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and substances.
Spears reportedly entered a treatment program voluntarily on April 12, a step that Federline believes is essential for her long-term stability.
“Kevin is very pleased that Britney sought treatment on her own,” Kaplan said in a statement released by media outlets such as TMZ.
The lawyer stressed that, For Federline, the most positive thing is that this is a “personal decision and not something imposed“, which increases the chances of a successful recovery process.
Sources close to the family indicate that The decisive part for the singer to accept the help was the intervention of her children, Sean Preston (20) and Jayden James (19). The young people would have maintained a firm but loving stance, conditioning their closeness to their mother receiving the necessary treatment.
