On his first day at Coachella, Karol G offered a high-impact show in which she celebrated her Latin roots. The Colombian became the first Latin artist to headline the standard pageant poster and, without a doubt, exceeded all expectations.
“I am Carolina Giraldo, from Medellín, Colombia, and today I am the first Latina woman to headline Coachella.”declared the superstar before the public in Indio, California.
Almost at the close of his emblematic mutter, he declared:
“I’m very happy and very proud of this, but at the same time, I feel like it’s late. Before me there were so many legendary Latin artists who gave me the opportunity to be here tonight.”
With a slight delay, after 10:30 pm (PT). The Colombian began her performance with an introductory rock-style video which told the story of a wild woman who loses her voice while trying to assimilate into the world, and then regains her freedom and becomes a goddess. Then, burst onto the stage with “Latina Foreva” and “Un Gatito Me Llamó”.
Before his mutter at the pageant, Karol G had expressed his desire to turn his first day at Coachella into a night that would go down in the history of Latin music and, when he arrived on stage, he said it again:
“Tonight is not just about me, but about my Latin community, about my people. This is about my Latinos who have been struggling in this country lately. We support them. I am proud because this brings out the best in us: unity, resilience, a strong spirit. We don’t do this to exclude anyone, we do it so that everyone feels welcome to our culture, to our music. For desire, do not be afraid, be proud. Raise your flag!”

The staging
Karol G’s mutter leaned towards magnitude and ambition. With an impressive set that evoked an old adobe house, the artist was flanked by more than a dozen dancers.
The most memorable moments included a dance on a giant macaw and a dream scene simulating a lake, where her dancers sprayed her with water. The night was a constant celebration of women, from its dancers to a female mariachi group and the special guests who took the stage.

Surprise guests
The performance featured multiple stellar participations. The first to appear was Mariah Angeliq to perform “El Makinon”. Later, Becky G joined Karol G to sing her multi-platinum hit “Mamii”. There was also no lack of reggaeton energy with Wisinand a more ethereal moment when releasing a new song alongside the band Cigarettes After Intercourse and vocalist Greg Gonzalez.
Karol G closed his historic quandary with “Provenza”, making the audience dance while fireworks exploded behind them, and she and her team made the closing bow.
