On a day that consolidated his status as a living entertainment legend, the singer Bruno Mars was officially proclaimed this Friday as the “new king of Las Vegas.”

Sin City paid an unprecedented tribute to the Hawaiian artist, giving him their own street and formally declaring “Bruno Mars Day.”

The celebration began with a vibrant parade along the iconic Las Vegas Strip. Mars toured the main avenue aboard a pink convertible “low-rider”, accompanied by his backup singers and acclaimed by hundreds of fans who endured high temperatures for hours to witness the moment.

The climax of the event came with the inauguration of the “Bruno Mars Pressure”a street now named after the artist.

With this distinction, Mars joins a select group of icons who have shaped the city’s identitysharing honors with figures of the stature of Elvis Presley and the members of the Rat Pack: Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr.

“It is a huge privilege, and I want to thank you with all my heart for giving me this today,” the “Uptown Funk” singer said excitedly.

Recognition is not a coincidence. Mars has maintained a constant presence on the Las Vegas stage for more than 15 yearsperforming more than 140 shows in the last decade alone.

Invoice Hornbuckle, CEO of MGM Motels World, highlighted that the artist has the necessary legacy to continue shining in the city for many more years.

As a token of gratitude, The singer announced a donation of $1 million to the Las Vegas Children’s Health Centera figure that was equaled by its partner MGM Huge.

The day culminated with a special performance with his band, “The Hooligans”, serving as a prelude to the start of his new world tour, “Romantic Tour”, at Allegiant Stadium.
