The details of the case
The case of sexual abuse that Omar Bravo faces is in the complementary investigation stage, as part of the process in which both the Prosecutor’s Office and the defense will present their evidence. In one, the authority will call on both parties to present witnesses, expert reports and more, and will define next week the beginning of an intermediate stage.
At this stage a formal accusation will be filed against you. and a hearing will be held, in which the evidence will be reviewed, to define which is valid and which is not in this publicized case where it will be known if the Chivas gunner spends several years in prison.
The prosecutor is Salvador González de los Santos, he said that they already had everything ready to present the accusation, which gives rise to a trial against Omar Bravo: “We are close to closing precisely the complementary investigation. Well, the part that follows is the intermediate stage, it is to present the accusation and clear the hearing, the intermediate system, for the purification of evidence,” he said.
In their defense, Bravo and his lawyers can still ask for an extension of the deadline and require more time. If the request is accepted, it will be extended, but if they do not request it or if the judge rejects said position, the formal accusation will be presented next week or a little later.
Omar Bravo was formally detained on October 4, 2025. He was linked to the process, which means that a judge determined that there is sufficient evidence to continue investigating him for the crime of sexual abuse.
The crime was for abuse against his stepdaughter, claiming that the events would have occurred over about six yearsfrom when she was 11 to 17 years old. The Prosecutor’s Office presented evidence such as captures, audios and videos, which caused the former forward of the Mexican team and Chivas to receive preventive detention, but protected because the defense managed to extend the investigation, initially, until January of this year.
The Jalisco Prosecutor’s Office is ready to present the accusation against the former soccer player Omar N, since next week the term established by the Management Judge for the closure of the complementary investigation will expire.
