A product recall has caught the attention of United States authorities after being registered injuries to customers who purchased canopy beds sold through Costco. The problem has raised concerns about the risk of the upper structure suddenly collapsing during use or when moving the furniture within the home.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) detailed that Samson Global will recall about 5,600 canopy bed bases sold through Costco.com between October 2024 and February 2026for prices ranging between $900 and $1,000 dollars.

The model numbers involved are:

  • M24109230 Bellevue Queen and King.
  • M24109240 Bellevue Queen and King.
  • M24107230 Oaklynn Queen and King.
  • M24107240 Oaklynn Queen and King.

The label with the “Samson Global” name and model number is located on the inside of the right side of the bed frame, when viewed from the foot, allowing consumers to check if your product is within the recall.

The valuable problem that forced the removal is in the upper canopy beams, which can detach and fall. According to the CPSC, this occurs primarily when the bed is moved, causing a risk of direct impact on people.

So far, the company based in Excessive Point, North Carolina, has received five reports of collapseand in all cases consumers were hit by falling pieces. Four of these incidents resulted in bruises to the head and shoulders, according to federal authorities.

The authorities have issued an urgent recommendation: do not move the affected beds, as this could increase the risk of collapse. Instead, Customers should contact the company to receive a free repair kit which includes four metal supports and the necessary hardware to reinforce the structure.

Samson Global has enabled several means of contact, including the toll-free number 800-357-0701, Available Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm Eastern Time, email [email protected] and its official website in the withdrawal information section.

So far, Costco and the manufacturer have not announced direct financial compensation for those affected nor have any lawsuits been confirmed related to this recall. However, these types of cases usually evolve depending on the number of incidents reported and the legal actions that may arise later, especially if injuries continue to be reported.

Until now, Costco’s responsibility is to recall Samson Global beds from the market to avoid purchasing more defective units.
