The president donald trump sparked a new controversy after publishing on his Truth Social network a explicit video of a murder occurred in Florida, which he used to reinforce his speech against the immigration policies promoted by the Democrats.
The field cloth shows a man attacking a woman with a hammer at a gas station in Fortress Myers. The victim, identified as Nilufa Easmin, died at the scene after the attack. The suspect, Rolbert Joachin, 40, was arrested subsequently and faces charges of murder, property damage and vandalism, according to court records.
He Department of Homeland Security (DHS) informed that Joachin is originally from Haiti and that he was in the United States without immigration status. In addition, he confirmed that there is an immigration detention order against him and that he will be deported “regardless of the outcome of this case.”
In his post, Trump called the video “one of the most disgusting things” that a person can see and used it to hold the Democratic administration directly responsible for allowing the suspect to remain in the country.
“As I have always said, if you import the Third World, you become the Third World,” he wrote, referring to the immigration policy of recent years.
The president went further by pointing out that the accused had remained in the United States thanks to the Temporary Protected Status (TPS)a program that protects people from countries with unsafe conditions from deportation.
“This individual was released in our country for the worst president in history, Joe Biden, and the radical Democrats,” said Trump, who also criticized federal judges for blocking his administration’s attempts to eliminate this benefit.
In the same message, the president He asked for prayers for the victim’s family. and assured that his government will seek “quick and severe” justice. However, he warned about the crudeness of the video: “I do not recommend watching this recording, it is really terrifying, but I felt the obligation to show it.”
Despite the impact of the case, analyzes cited by Reuters indicate that there is no conclusive evidence of a general increase in crime linked to immigrants in the United Statesa point that has been constantly debated in political discourse.
The publication of the video has revived the discussion about the ethical limits in dissemination of violent content and its use within the political debate.
