It may not sound familiar when we mention the ONVO L90an electric SUV that, with almost no international exposure, has just reached a figure that is beginning to bother more than one traditional manufacturer.

In a matter of months, this model managed to overcome the 50,000 deliveries. It’s not just about volume, but speed. Especially if you take into account that it belongs to a relatively new sub-brand within the universe of NIO.

The data confirms something that has already been suggested in Chinathere are new players who are learning to move very quickly in an increasingly competitive market.
A launch that exceeded all expectations
The ONVO L90 began deliveries in August 2025 and from that moment on the pace did not stop growing. In less time than expected, this SUV positioned itself in one of the most disputed segments in the country.

Part of its success makes sense if you look at the product. We are looking at an SUV 5.14 meters long, with a wheelbase of 3.11 meters that allows it to offer three rows of seats and capacity for seven passengers. That is, a vehicle clearly designed for families looking for space without giving up technology.
Comfort and technology in a top class key
The inside plays a key role in its proposal. The perceived quality is in line with mid-high range models, with details that aim directly at the comfort of all occupants.
The multimedia system is supported by a 17.2-inch central screen with 3K resolutionwhile in the rear seats there is space for entertainment with an additional screen. Added to this are unusual elements in its range, such as folding tables, heated seats with a massage function, footrests and even an integrated refrigerator.

The growth of the model coincides with a recent update that introduces specific improvements. Among them, the incorporation of a LiDAR sensor mounted on the roof stands out, which reinforces its driving assistance capabilities.
As for the price, the ONVO L90 ranged between approximately $36,000 and $40,600 at its launch in China. After the update, Eric Yu confirmed an increase close to $1,400 dollars compared to the previous version.
Autonomy and performance that convince
Beyond the equipment, the technical section also accompanies. The model is equipped with an 85 kWh battery with which it achieves a range of up to 605 kilometers under the Chinese CLTC cycle.
In its most complete versions, it offers 456 HP, all-wheel drive and a 900 volt architecture. The benefits are not far behind, with a acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds.
The possible arrival to new markets
For now, the ONVO L90 remains focused on China, but the context invites us to think about expansion. NIO has already taken steps in Europe with other models, and everything indicates that this sub-brand could follow the same path.
If that happens, it would not be strange to see it compete head to head with already established electric SUVs. And seeing the pace with which he has started, it is clear that he would not exactly arrive as a supporting actor.
