President Donald Trump surprised by announcing a plan to create a joint venture with the Iranian government so that both parties could obtain profits from collecting tolls on commercial vessels interested in crossing the Strait of Hormuz.

Before the United States declared war on Iran, the transition to shipping in the region narrowest that connects the Persian Gulf (to the west) with the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea (to the east) free expertise without any oil or merchandise freighter having to pay a single cent for tolls.

However, as a defense against US bombing in various parts of Iran, the authorities of the Islamic Republic chose to close the Strait of Hormuz under the threat that any vessel detected crossing would be sunk.

After a few days, given the impossibility of transporting crude oil and other necessary goods in Europe through the aforementioned sea route, oil and gasoline prices began to rise in the world, triggering inflation in several countries.

In fact, only Russian or Chinese flag cargo ships could cross the Strait of Hormuz without being threatened by Iran.

Subsequently, the possibility was opened for other ships to also cross through that place, as long as none belonged to nations allied with the United States.

Another condition, perhaps the most important, was that they covered a payment equivalent to two million dollars, but in Chinese currency.

Realizing the gains generated by the Iranian strategy, It occurred to Trump to propose an alliance with his war enemy and thus obtain a part of the money collected from maritime tolls.

“We are thinking about doing it as a joint venture. It is a way of securing it, also of protecting it from many other people,” the New York tycoon told Jonathan Karl, a journalist for the television network. ABC News,

Later, through a message shared on the Reality Social platform, Trump endorsed his idea of making money by sharing the sight of the Strait of Hormuz.

“The United States will collaborate to decongest traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. There will be many positive initiatives! A lot of money will be made. Iran will be able to begin the reconstruction process. We’ll load up all kinds of supplies and just ‘be around’ to make sure everything goes well. I am sure it will be so. Just like what we are experiencing in the United States, this could be the Golden Age of the East!

What is controversial is that no member of the Iranian government has issued any type of comment in support of Trump’s words.
