Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer called President Donald Trump “a military idiot” who should be blamed for the problems in the economy because of his idea of confronting Iran without a plan defined in advance.
Through a message published on the X platform, formerly known as Twitter, The Brooklyn Democrat attacked the head of the nation considering that by having given the order to attack the Islamic Republic on February 28, he did not calculate the high expense of the US military offensive or the repercussions of said action on fuel prices.
“Trump is an idiot when it comes to military matters. Their war, costing $44 billion dollars and more than $4 a gallon of gasoline, has left us worse off today than when it began. And if this war resumes, we will be in an even worse situation,” he said.
He then urged his colleagues in Congress to take action on the matter to avoid greater damage than that caused so far by the president’s poor decision.
“We must pass our War Powers Resolution to end this war once and for all,” he emphasized.

Schumer’s position had already been expressed hours before in another publication where he described Trump as “an extremely sick person” who should be stopped.
“Every Republican who refuses to join us in voting against this gratuitous and arbitrary war will be responsible for all the consequences,” he also wrote in X.
In this regard, Anna Kelly, White House spokesperson, issued a statement addressed to Fox News to remind Chuck Schumer how he was the one who previously trumpeted that Iran posed a security threat.
“Like many Democrats, Chuck Schumer has spent decades talking about the threat posed by Iran, but doing nothing about it. “President Trump took courageous measures to ensure that Iran can never use a nuclear weapon against our territory, and as he himself said, we are very advanced in a definitive agreement to achieve lasting peace,” indicates part of the letter.
