The world of hip-hop is once again under the microscope after the arrest of New York rapper Lil Tjay for disorderly conduct in Florida after the shooting in which Offset was injured.
According to Billboard, The artist was arrested for his alleged connection with the incident happened last weekend, in which Shots were fired at a vehicle where rapper Offset wasformer member of Migos.
The event took place near an exclusive nightclub in Miami Shoreline. Witnesses in the area reported multiple explosions directed at a luxury van carrying Offset and his team.
Although the vehicle was hit several times by bullets, it was confirmed that Offset was not seriously injured. However, the chaos generated caused a rapid mobilization of the Miami Police Department.
After a brief investigation and After reviewing security cameras, authorities identified Lil Tjaywhose staunch name is Tione Jayden Merritt, as one of the persons of interest related to the attack.
The 24-year-old rapper was arrested on charges including weapons possession and active participation in a drive-by shooting.
Tjay was booked into the Broward County Jail on $500 bail.
This This is not the first time Lil Tjay has been involved in violent incidents. In 2022, the artist himself almost lost his life after being shot seven times in an attempted robbery in New Jersey.
For their part, Offset’s representatives have not issued official statements, although close sources assure that the artist is collaborating with the investigation.
