In a maritime operation led by elements of the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar), in coordination with the Total Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic (FGR) and the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), a smaller boat with an outboard motor, four packages and three bags weighing approximately 265 kilograms of cocaine.

In addition, several drums of various capacities were found inside the boat that contained suspected fuel to supply the unit during the journey.

The seizure was carried out through maritime monitoring which began 66 nautical miles northwest of the coast of Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán and ended when the offending vessel made landfall on the coast of Maruata, Michoacán.

The above, with intelligence information and through the deployment of a defender-type vessel and aircraft, with which the non-public naval located and seized the packages with the illicit substance.

This represents an impact of around 56.7 million pesos (3.2 million dollars)while preventing more than 530,000 doses of that drug from reaching society.

The seized packages will be made available to the corresponding Public Ministry agent, who will make up the investigation folder.

Finally, it was reported that these actions are part of the maritime surveillance operations carried out by the Secretary of the Navy to inhibit the actions of criminal groups and represent a significant impact on their financial structures.
