An attempted murder suspect was arrested Sunday night after a police chase that spanned 160 miles (257 kilometers) across three Southern California counties for three hours.

Ventura County Sheriff’s Office reported that the chase began around 5:15 pm this Sunday, April 5, related to a traffic violation.

According to reports, It all started with an attempted traffic stop in Ventura, but the driver fledso the chase was undertaken by officers from the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

During the chase, the 49-year-old suspect contacted the emergency center and, after speaking with law enforcement, the agents learned that know-how subject wanted in connection with attempted murder investigation.

After starting in Ventura County, The chase continued through several communities in the San Fernando Valley along Highway 134until reaching the San Gabriel Valley on Highway 210.

Subsequently, the suspect continued on the 210 Freeway until crossing into San Bernardino Countybefore taking Highway 215 north.
