kia It is not satisfied with following the pace of the market, it wants to set it. And with the new generation of the Seltos, it makes it quite clear. This compact SUV takes an important turn in 2027not only in design, but also in concept.

The official presentation took place at New York Global Auto Repeat 2026a scenario where there was no shortage of new features, but the Seltos managed to get noticed. This is no coincidence.
This model had already been one of the pillars of the brand and now seeks to consolidate itself against well-positioned rivals such as the Honda CR-V, the Mazda CX-5 or the Toyota Corolla Hideous.
Bigger and with another presence
At first glance, the change is evident. The Seltos 2027 grows in all its dimensions. It is longer, wider and with a wheelbase that directly improves habitability. This increase translates into something that users value highly, more comfort on a daily basis.
The design also evolves. It maintains the modern essence of Kia, but incorporates a more robust aesthetic, with clear nods to the Kia Telluride. The new LED lights with amber signature, recessed handles and wheels up to 19 inches in X-Line versions reinforce that more refined and exact image.
The new colors, like Terrain Brown or Frost Blueaccompany that feeling of renewal without breaking with the identity of the model.
An interior that points to another level
Inside doors is where the generational leap is most perceived. The cabin becomes more technological, but also more practical. The combination of screens can reach almost 30 inches in total, with a system that integrates a 12.3-inch central panel, a digital panel of the same size and an additional module for air conditioning.
Kia’s ccNC system enables wireless connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Autosomething that has become essential. Added to this are remote updates and a voice assistant that uses man-made intelligence to adapt to the driver’s use.
Space also improves significantly. The second row gains in comfort, with more legroom, and the cargo area reaches up to 60 cubic feet with the seats folded down. It’s a strong point for those looking for versatility without jumping to a larger SUV.
The big news is under the hood
The step towards electrification is probably the most important move for this Seltos. For the first time, it incorporates a hybrid version within its range, something that puts it in line with what the market demands today.
The mechanical offer is made up of four options. From a 2.0-liter engine with IVT transmission, through a 190-horsepower 1.6 turbo with all-wheel driveto a hybrid variant that combines a 1.6-liter engine with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission.
This hybrid version can be configured with front-wheel drive or with an e-AWD system, which expands its versatility. Although there are still no official consumption figures, everything indicates that it will be one of the most attractive points of the model.
Security that raises the bar
kia It also reinforces the safety section with systems that until recently were exclusive to higher segments. The 2027 Seltos adds automatic emergency braking, lane assist, blind spot monitoring with camera and 360° visionamong other attendees.
Regarding its arrival on the market, the versions with traditional engines will be available from the second quarter of 2026. The hybrid variant will arrive towards the end of that same year.
The price is not yet official, but it is estimated that it will start around $26,000 dollarsa figure that keeps it competitive within its category.
