The Democratic National Committee (DNC) published what is considered the autopsy of the disastrous result obtained by the former vice president of the nation at the polls, this despite the more than $1 billion dollars raised through donations for her campaign.

In the preliminary text on the report of Kamala Harris’s disaster in the 2024 presidential elections, the Biden administration is held responsible.

Paul Rivera, a Democratic consultant and author of the analysis, said he was convinced that the lack of research was one of the main reasons for showing Kamala Harris as someone incapable of connecting with key sectors of the electorate that ultimately made the difference between the winner and the loser on the ballot.

“Once the change of candidate was announced, the polling team rushed to conduct three on-the-ground studies: one on the vice president’s biography and career, another on her vision and opinion, and a third on the attacks and responses. Members of the vice president’s team were asked to reconstruct and update their own research from 2019, but even they were not clear whether this research had reached the polling team.

The research results were compiled into a report that was shared with campaign leaders. This report served as a guide for the conversations they had with them, but the pollsters never informed the candidacy,” indicates part of the analysis.

However, the most controversial of the conclusions about why Harris was vastly surpassed by Donald Trump lies in the alleged failure of the White House to have not prepared her as it should to be up to the task of facing a challenge that ended up exceeding her capacity.

The White House did not position or prepare the vice president. If the White House had explored and evaluated ways to leverage Kamala Harris’s influence early in the administration, perhaps it would have improved the president’s position, and without a doubt it could have helped her prepare to lead the candidacy,” the text emphasizes.

In another section it is highlighted that, if Joe Biden had stuck to continuing with his campaign in search of a hypothetical re-election, some Democrats fighting to occupy minor positions would have been dragged into similar setbacks as the one experienced by the former vice president.

Had Biden remained on the ballot, Democrats running for other offices could have faced even greater challenges” indicates the analysis.
