The closing of Closing 2026 was affected by the Mexico’s preparation for the 2026 World Cup. Several clubs were affected because they had to loan players to Javier Aguirre. Marco Fabián questioned the organization of the tournament.

It is evident that the Mexican team conditioned the development of the Clausura 2026 Liguilla. Several teams that were fighting for the title found themselves forced to give up their players for the start of the Mexican team’s concentration.

Marco Fabián questioned that there was not good planning so that the local tournament was not affected. The former Chivas de Guadalajara player gave European football as an example. The tournaments in the Old Continent continue to be played, but this has not affected the clubs.

“The only thing I can say is that Liga MX has to learn from other leagues and try to accommodate the dates so that the finals coincide of what one works on throughout the tournament and coordinate so they can’t take away your best players“said Fabián in statements published by Mediotiempo.

Javier Aguirre’s first call for the concentration modules was 12 footballers from the native tournament. The most affected club was the Chivas de Guadalajara, a team that lost up to 5 players for the 2026 Liguilla.

The players called were Raúl Rangel, Luis Romo, Roberto Alvarado, Brian Gutiérrez and Armando “Hormiga” González, from the Chivas; Jesús Gallardo and Alexis Vega, of the Toluca; Israel Reyes, of America; Erik Lira, from Blue Cross; Guillermo Martínez, of the UNAM Pumas; Carlos Acevedo, of the Santos Laguna and Gilberto Mora of the Xolos from Tijuana.

Marco Fabián continued to develop the example of European football. The final part of the league tournaments is still being played on the Old Continent. The final of the UEFA Champions League. No team is above the clubs that seek to finish the season in a good way.

“We are here in Europe and We see that the leagues and the Champions League are ending, while in Mexico it is a little different. Obviously, we are all in the boat of the Mexican team, but it is a situation that is a little incomprehensible on the part of the clubs. I believe that this part of the organization must be improved by Liga MX,” he added.

The closing of Clausura 2026 will take place between Thursday, May 21 and Sunday, May 24. The protagonists of this meeting will be Cruz Azul and the UNAM Pumas. The Cementero team lost Erik Lira and the Auriazules gave in to Guillermo Martinez. Both clubs will have the loss of a footballer due to the call-up of Javier Aguirre.
