Marco Rubio, Secretary of State, is convinced that much of the progress made by China to become an international power has been achieved through the theft of intellectual property, which should be one of the topics addressed during the meetings held by President Donald Trump with his counterpart Xi Jinping.
During an interview with Sean Hannity, journalist for the television network Fox News, The Florida conservative mentioned that the Chinese have dedicated themselves to replicating several projects successfully developed in the United States, but they have done so without paying any type of cost. and, by promoting them massively, their success in the international market has been enormous, relegating those who invested large amounts of money in developing them, that is, their true creators.
“Many of the advances that have been seen in China’s commercial sector, industrial sector, and technology sector are the product of intellectual property theft or reverse engineering, which amounts to the same thing, of our own technology.. “That needs to be addressed,” he said.

From Rubio’s perspective, it is crazy to stop the progress achieved by China, but it is necessary to make his government understand that its growth must be based on its own projects and not taking those developed by the United States, because that is a theft.
“We do not intend to stop China, but its rise cannot come at our expense. His rise cannot come at the cost of our fall.
On the one hand, if they steal or appropriate what was cutting-edge know-how five years ago, but what will be cutting-edge in a few years, we have to continue investing and promoting our companies so that they remain at the forefront and continue leading the world in innovation,” he emphasized.
Marco Rubio believes that the Chinese project of leaving the United States behind has been underway for years without restrictions being placed on them, a situation that should not continue.
“They believe that they will be the most powerful country in the world, that they will surpass the United States and they have a blueprint to achieve this. And they are carrying out that blueprint. We, on the other hand, do not see it that way,” he said.
