Mauro Alberto Núñez Ojedaalias “The Jando”identified as an alleged pilot at the service of the faction of Los Chapitos of the Sinaloa Cartelreached an agreement with the United States government to plead guilty to charges related to drug trafficking, according to court documents.
The agreement was signed before a federal court in Washington, where Núñez Ojeda accepted his participation in a conspiracy to traffic cocaine into the United States.
US investigations indicate that “El Jando” would have worked as a pilot for the criminal organization headed by the sons of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán.
Various versions also link it with the air transport of Joaquín Guzmán López and Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada towards the United States in 2024, an episode that triggered tensions within the Sinaloa Cartel.
According to judicial information, the alleged criminal operator pleaded guilty on April 9, 2026.
The agreement contemplates cooperation with US authoritiesalthough so far neither the full terms nor an eventual sentence have been publicly released.
The case occurs amid growing pressure from the US government against members and collaborators of Los Chapitos, an organization accused of trafficking fentanyl and other drugs to that country.
