Recently We spoke with Andrés Cepeda, a Colombian singer who carries the gift of musical creation in his pen and in his blood. We talk about “Bogotá the tour.” Production returning to the United States. Whose staging will allow his audience to take with him and his musicians an intimate and emotional journey that celebrates his roots, his history and more than three decades of artistic career.
At 52 years old, he is a man who understands music and who recognizes that current genres allow many artists to connect with all the existing and future tastes in this art. Recognize the value of each artist, even if their preferences do not go in the same direction. And, in the end, music should have no borders. There is simply what you like and what you don’t, both you and anyone else.
Cepeda’s creative connection has been transferred to his music for years, which allows us to listen to him and close our eyes to enjoy what he tells us, what he presents to us and sometimes makes us think about scenes from novels or movies in our minds with some of his lyrics. It’s probably my inner process, but I think it happens to anyone who listens to him sing and allows themselves to enter each lyric of his songs.
These are some of the presentations he will be making this month of May:
- May 12 — Boston (Lynn, MA) — Lynn Auditorium
- May 13 — New York, NY — The Beacon Theater
- May 15—Elizabeth, NJ—The Ritz
- May 16—Washington, DC—The Lincoln Theater
- May 18 — Atlanta, GA — Fluctuate Playhouse
- May 19—Tampa, FL—Ferguson Hall
- May 21 — Orlando, FL — Steinmetz Hall
- May 22—Miami, FL—James L. Knight Heart
