The Madres Buscadoras de Jalisco collective reported the discovery of 28 bags with human remains and bones in an area known as Las Pintitas, about six kilometers from the Guadalajara International Airport.
The discovery occurred after an anonymous complaint that warned about possible clandestine burial sites on a site that is difficult to access.
Members of the group went to the scene and began search work with manual tools, where they confirmed the presence of human remains in an advanced state of decomposition.
Through social networks, the search mothers spread a message in which they contrasted the international attention that Guadalajara receives towards the 2026 Soccer World Cup with the crisis of disappearances that Jalisco faces.
“While the world looks towards the Guadalajara Airport for the World Cup, just 6 km away, in Las Pintitas, pain is pouring out of the earth: 28 bags with human remains and bones,” they noted.
The activist Ceci Floresfounder of the Mothers Searchers of Sonora collective, supported the complaint and asked not to leave the families searching for their missing people alone in Jalisco. “The desperation of the mothers of Jalisco is a wound shared by all,” he said.
The discovery occurs amid growing concern about the location of clandestine graves in the entity. Search groups have warned that areas near the airport and the Akron stadium, headquarters of the 2026 World Cup, accumulate hundreds of human remains found in recent years.
Until now, state authorities have not reported the estimated number of victims nor advances on possible identifications of the remains located.
