The renowned singer and songwriter Kelly Clarkson is preparing for a new chapter in her television career. NBC announced this Thursday, through its Instagram account, that Clarkson will return as a coach on “The State” for the next season that will air in the fall.
“Kelly’s team is back at it! “Kelly Clarkson returns as coach this fall at The State!” the network confirmed in the publication.
A track record of success on “The State”
Clarkson is no newcomer to the singing competition show. Originally, She participated as a coach from season 14 to season 21. She subsequently returned for season 23, although she decided to leave the show again to move to New York City with her two children following her divorce from Brandon Blackstock. The artist returned once again for season 29 last year.
Clarkson’s return to “The State” coincides with the culmination of his eponymous daytime talk showafter seven seasons.
Sources described it to Page Six his departure from daytime television as “definitive”and one of them explained that “it requires a lot of production, and looking at the panorama of daytime television, it is no longer sustainable.”
Clarkson herself confirmed the news on February 2 through an emotional post on Instagram. “I had the immense fortune to work with such an extraordinary group of people on “The Kelly Clarkson Present,” both in Los Angeles and New York,” the 44-year-old artist wrote.
“There were many incredible moments and programs throughout these seven seasons”he added, thanking his team, guests and NBC for their support. Clarkson concluded his message by assuring that, although he is saying goodbye to his daytime show, “This is not goodbye.”
A new stage to be more present at home
In February, sources told Folk that the “American Idol” winner She was ready for her “next stage.”which would give “the space to be more present at home” with their two children: River Rose, 11, and Remington, 9.
Last summer, Clarkson had to take a temporary break from her program to care for her family. after the death of his ex-partner, Brandon Blackstockwho died after a long private battle with melanoma. In September 2025, he made an emotional return to his show before the announcement of its finale.
