Raymond Ayala, known worldwide as Daddy Yankeeonce again inscribed his name in the golden pages of music. The iconic Puerto Rican artist officially established himself as the most awarded latin composer in history of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).
In the recent edition of the ASCAP 2026 Awards, the “King of Reggaeton” added the 63rd and 64th awards of his career to his showcase.
The first recognition was for its composition “Smile at him”an inspiring song that has resonated deeply with the world audience. The second trophy came thanks to his work in “Latina Foreva”song performed by the Colombian Karol G.
This milestone is not the result of chance, but of unprecedented consistency. Daddy Yankee has maintained an uninterrupted streak of victories in these awards since 2005, when the urban genre was just beginning its international expansion.
His ability to reinvent himself and remain current, even after announcing his retirement from the stage, reaffirms his status as the necessary architect of contemporary urban music.
The year 2026 is being particularly significant for Puerto Ricans. In addition to this historical record, he was recently named “Person of the Year” by the Latin Recording Academy and released “ECHO”the official theme of the Soccer World Cup with Shenseea.
The ceremony also highlighted other talents such as Keityn, named Composer of the Year, and Romeo Santos, who received the award for Latin Composer/Artist of the Year.
