Vivek Ramaswamy, billionaire in the biotechnology sector, won the Republican nomination that allows him to run as a candidate for governor of Ohio.
The businessman who in 2020 aspired to the presidency of the nation with the proposal of managing the government as a company, chose to be sincere with Donald Trump and explain his intention to participate in the race to govern his home state.
In response, the head of the nation gave him his support and from that He designed a campaign strategy that allowed him to win by a comfortable margin over Casey Putsch, an automobile designer and racing team owner from northwest Ohio but a political neophyte.
With 83 of the 88 counties reporting election day results, the Hindu-rooted tycoon has won four out of five votes; while his rival accumulates 15% of the votes.
Ramaswamy has history on his side, as Ohio has been characterized in the last 20 years as a traditionally Republican state.
The star proposal promoted by the visionary businessman is to allegedly carry out what he describes as “the largest property tax reduction in the history of Ohio.”
Waiting to know the official results, Ramaswamy shared a video on his social networks urging the citizens of Ohio to support him with their vote to promote change in their state until it becomes a model to emulate at the national level.
“If you care about giving your children and your family the same opportunity to achieve the American dream that this state and this country gave me and my family, if you care about giving our children a world-class education, then, honestly, we will work with you to take our state to greater heights than ever before.
Because we are not a state in decline, we are not a region in decline, we are not a nation in decline. We are a state and a nation that is still on the rise.
“By the time we’re done, maybe even by the end of next year, it will be Ohio that sets the national standard that Texas and Tennessee and Florida will look up to, rather than the other way around,” he said.
