A tragedy struck the River Oaks community in Houston, Texas, after a family—made up of a father, mother and two minors—was found dead inside their residence.
According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded to the home Monday afternoon, shortly after 5:26 p.m., after receiving a request for a welfare check. The alert was issued by a babysitter and a family member, who expressed concern when they were unable to communicate with the members of the household.
Upon entering the home, Officers located the bodies of the four people insideABC reported.
Preliminary homicide-suicide hypothesis
The authorities indicated that, with substandard in the first findings, The case is being treated as a suspected murder-suicide.. However, no additional details have been revealed about the dynamics of the events or the identity of the victims.
During a press conference, the police avoided confirming versions spread by neighbors, including the possibility that the mother was pregnant.
The incident has generated consternation among residents of the neighborhood, known for its tranquility. Neighbors consulted by local media described the event as unprecedented in the area.
Some noted that they had never witnessed an event of such magnitude in years of residence, highlighting the area’s routine security.
