A man identified as Javontae Simms, 23, was charged with murdering his brother after a dispute over housekeeping in Minneapolis.

According to court documents obtained by Legislation&Crime, the incident occurred early Friday morning at a residential residence. The argument began when Simms expressed his annoyance at the state of the kitchen while his brother and his partner were eating.

Witnesses indicated that the accused confronted his brother, warning him that if he did not change his behavior, there would be consequences. The situation escalated quickly.

Knife attack and police response

According to the most likely cause report, Simms momentarily left the kitchen and returned with a knife. After a verbal exchange, A struggle took place between both brothers that culminated in a stab wound to the victim’s chest.
