New video revealed showing Cole Allen shooting a Secret Service agent at correspondents’ dinner

The federal prosecutor’s office in Washington released a video in which you see Cole Allen, accused of trying assassinate the president of the United States, Donald Trumpduring the White House correspondents’ dinner last Saturday, shooting at an agent of the Secret service before his arrest.

“Today we are publishing the video that has already been presented in the United States District Court and that shows Cole Allen shooting a Secret Service agent”said the prosecutor Jeanie Piro in a publication on his official X account, accompanied by the images.

Piro added that “There is no evidence that the shooting was the result of friendly fire.”

Cole Allen visited area before shooting

The images shared by the prosecutor also show Allen the day before the attack hanging around the area where the dinner was held.

Allen, a 31-year-old teacher from California, appeared on Thursday in a hearing of about 15 minutes in which he informed the judge of the District of ColumbiaMoxila Upadhyaya, who renounces challenging her stay in prison, a precautionary measure requested by the prosecution.

The defendant’s lawyers asked the judge to modify the prison conditions of Allen, who is held 24 hours a day in an isolation cell, a measure they consider disproportionate. The magistrate, however, responded that she lacks authority on this matter.

Allen currently faces one charge for attempting to kill the president, a crime that can carry a life sentence, and two others related to the transportation and use of weapons, although the prosecutor’s office announced this Thursday that it plans to file “many more” charges against him.

The accused tried to break into the building armed Washington Hilton hotel loungen of the capital, where a gala was being held with the presence of Trump, the first lady, Melania; Vice President, JD Vance; the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mike Johnson; and several members of the Government.

There were also about 2,000 guests in the room, including journalists, diplomats and businessmen.

Secret Service agents responded with five shots and Allen fell to the ground and was subdued, although he did not suffer any gunshot wounds.

The incident left no victims, although the shots caused the evacuation of Trump and the rest of the authorities, in addition to unleashing panic among some of the attendees.
