April has been a month full of emotions for the singer Karol G. And just a few weeks after making history and being crowned the first Latina to lead the Coachella Competition, The Colombian faces an irreparable loss: the loss of her aunt.
In the midst of an agenda full of commitments, The “Provenza” singer paused to meet with her family and say goodbye to her aunt Teresa at a closed-door funeral.
The news of the death was confirmed by Jessica Giraldo, Karol G’s sister, through a moving post on Instagram that mentioned the great pillar that Mrs. Teresa was for her family.
“Heaven is celebrating. Today, God receives one of the most special little angels that he lent us here on earth. We love you, beautiful aunt… We will always honor your legacy of love, solidarity and family union.“, reads the writing with which he accompanied an image of the deceased.
Despite the silence he maintained from his own social networks, Through TikTok, a video circulated in which Karol G can be seen crying inconsolably at her aunt’s funeral.while he hugs his family and accompanies them in their grief.
It didn’t take long for the displays of affection and words of encouragement to arrive from digital platforms, demonstrating that the support from their fans remains firm in good times and bad.

In the midst of this painful goodbye to “La Bichota”, the song “After You” was released in collaboration with Greg González, who sang for the first time in front of the public during his participation in the Coachella Competition. In its verses, the song talks about the void that one person left in the life of another.
