A double homicide case in the state of Florida has generated attention for the use of digital tools in the alleged planning of the crime. The defendant, Hisham Abugharbieh, 26, faces charges in the murder of two graduate students with ties to the University of South Florida.

According to court documents filed by Tampa-area prosecutors and reviewed by Fox Records, The suspect would have carried out searches on ChatGPT related to the disposal of human remains in garbage containers.

Queries cited in the investigation include questions about how authorities might discover a hidden body, as well as questions about changing a vehicle identification number and the legality of possessing weapons without a license.

The victims were identified as Zamil Limon and Nahida Bristy, both 27 years old. His disappearance was reported on April 17 by a relative after failing to communicate with them.
While One of the bodies was identified, authorities are working to confirm the second, found days later.

Arrest and background

The suspect was arrested after barricading himself in a home for more than an hour before surrendering to police.

Court records indicate a history of violent crimes, including assault and burglary, as well as recent incidents of aggressive behavior reported by family members.

The defendant remains held without bail in a Tampa-area jail and faces multiple charges, including two for first-degree murder, tampering with evidence and concealment of a body.
