Hispanic Riverside County firefighter arrested as suspected of committing sexual abuse.
David Renteria III, 51, resident of Placentia and firefighter with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire), was arrested on the morning of April 24 without incident at his home.
Riverside County Sheriff’s Office (RSO) reported that Renteria was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside on suspicion of rape, as well as illegal detention and other serious crimes.

In a statement, Cal Fire reported that requires its employees to maintain standards of professional conduct both on and off duty.
“Rentería was given the corresponding documentation so that an administrative license could be imposed on him.” and has not returned to duty since Cal Fire became aware of the allegations on January 4, 2026.“said the agency.
The county’s Human Trafficking Task Force, made up of investigators from multiple agencies, received information on an undisclosed date that Renteria, a firefighter-paramedic, He had allegedly been involved in two separate sexual crimes.

The authorities They did not provide the names of the two victimsnor the circumstances in which the two sexual assaults occurred.
Sergeant Aaron Wolfe, of the RSO, assured that sufficient evidence was gathered to obtain and execute a warrant at the home of the suspected Hispanic firefighter.
It was not possible to confirm Rentería’s seniority as a Cal Fire firefighter.an agency with which Riverside County maintains a contract for fire protection services.
