After being evacuated from the resort where the White House Correspondents’ Dinner was taking place due to the detonation of a firearm by a subject, President Donald Trump took to the Truth Social platform to confirm that he, his wife and members of his cabinet were safe.
“The first lady, the vice president and all members of the cabinet are in perfect health. A memorable night in Washington DC The Secret Service and law enforcement did a fantastic job. “They acted quickly and bravely,” he wrote.
Immediately afterwards, he announced that the person responsible for the detonations that put security personnel on alert had been arrested.
“The shooter has been arrested and I have recommended that ‘the show goes on’, but we will follow the instructions of law enforcement. They will make a decision shortly. IndependentDue to that decision, the night will be very different from what was planned and, simply, we will have to repeat it,” he stressed.
In a subsequent publication, the president shared images captured by a security camera showing the reaction of the Secret Service upon noticing the detonations.
Besides, He added a couple of photographs showing a subject lying with his face towards the floor and his torso exposed, who could presumably be the person who shot.
