In an interview with Of us, The protagonist of the series “Determined Housewives” opened up about the customs that she has easily embraced in Spanish cultureas well as about those details that he misses about the United States.
And although Eva Longoria visits the United States frequently to attend to her work commitments, she and her husband José Bastón have chosen Marbella (located in the south of Spain) as their home from the end of 2023, after acquiring the six-bedroom mansion in which they currently live.
In just two years, the 51-year-old Mexican-American has completely adapted to the slow pace of local culture, which contrasts with the fast-paced lifestyle she led in Los Angeles, California. “In Spain they enjoy life a lot. In this sense, he regretted that in his native country the same importance is not given to coexistence, especially in work spaces.

In this regard, he commented: “I miss my family, my family from Texas… and good Mexican food. That’s what I miss. That’s what there isn’t in Europe: good Mexican food.”
It was in 2024 when Eva Longoria and Mexican producer José Bastón revealed that, after years of dividing their time traveling between Mexico, the United States and Spain, they had come to the conclusion that the latter country would be their new place of residence.
At that time, the couple commented that the idea already represented a real possibility years ago, the coronavirus pandemic would have been the trigger that led them to take the leap. “That pushed him over the edge. Whether it was homelessness or taxes. I just feel like this chapter of my life is over,” the famous woman told Day-to-day Mail.
